I love this place. Long stretches of beaches and only the occasional walker. This is a great place for a quiet lunch and chair.

The header on this article claims dogs are allowed on the beach 9/15. Not true. The beach is open to dogs October 15th - May 15th. Remember to clean up after your dog, or we will lose those privileges, too.

With the confluence of the Merrimack River and the Atlantic Ocean, this is a lovely area, especially at sunset. The beach is very granular and wraps around the island, making for a variety of views. You'll see fisherpeople, beachcomers, and people having family portraits taken.

Response from nancyinnewbury |
July 4th for 4-6 weeks, depending on heat/ humidity. The hotter it is, the earlier they appear and the longer they're around.
