No records that this is the real thing, but I guess that the purpose is to show the point of landing. The park rangers keeping an eye on it are the most informative !

Plymouth Rock is now protected which is a good thing. The rock has decreased in size over the years due to natural causes and human abuse. Across the street are some statues and plagues telling the story of the first settlers. There is also a...More

All religions and cultures rely on myth to tell their stories. You will be disappointed when you see the rock if you are expecting some grandiose landing for the Pilgrims. This is not where they disembarked from the Mayflower but rather a piece of a...More

I do have to agree with both sides of these reviews. It is just a rock, but the historical significance is worth the visit.

Think of this as a modest shrine to dedicated and modest folk. It's a rock in a protective enclosure. The viewer stands about eight or so feet above it looking down to the rock at water level (see foundtrips pics). It represents about 70 years...More

Hey folks, what can I say? It's certainly a handsome rock. If there were some eyes I'm sure the little kids would love it.

I'm not even sure it was any sort of real rock as it related to the pilgrims and the Rock itself isn't very Eventful other htan to say you saw it. The Grist Mill and Mayflower are likely much more enjoyable, but at least it's...More

I have to admit some disappointment in visiting Plymouth Rock. First off, it sits on the commercial waterfront of Plymouth making it difficult to catch the right mood. Second: the existing boulder is a remnant of the original rock, which may or may not have...More

The historic significance of Plymouth cannot be overstated. See the harbor, Mayflower II and the Rock to experience some history. A great place for children.
