Snowy morning by the sea, this spot was memorable for light and color and the contrast between the dunes which speak of summer and the snow tipped reeds.

The Race Point Lighthouse is generally open for touring from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on the first and third Saturdays between mid-May and early October. The tour is free, but donations are greatly appreciated and go toward upkeep of the lighthouse and grounds. Transportation to the site is not provided for these tours. There is a special annual tour... More

I surprised my girlfriend with this short trip to Race Point. We found it a beautiful spot and had a wonderful time with the amazing hosts/housekeepers Susan and Jack. Also with us were at this weekend Nan and Patty. Race Point is a Lighthouse with a Keepershouse with several rooms, a kitchen and living room to share. It's located at... More

2 miles one way in sand no one around. Light house was great! We even talked to the light house keeper that was there for two nights. The beach is long and wide. Seals where our in the water watching the shoreline. Favorite hike of the week.

Usually stop here when going to Race Point Beach - which we usually do via bikes (either our own or one we rented in town). It provides a great view of the wide open ocean and is right on the beach.

There are three ways to see Race Point Light -- a hike, a dune buggy and a boat. Last year, two friends invited me for a fascinating trek through the dunes in their Jeep for a visit to the light. It was good to be able to walk through the sand to be close enough to feel its presence. Another... More

We used GPS to visit the Race Point Lighthouse. You cannot access the lighthouse unless you pay to park at the National Park. We could not access it without paying. We had a park ranger come flying up in his vehicle to chase us out and direct us back to pay at the gate. (We were not the only one... More

What a treasuer to see this lighthouse from the ocean AND via Jeep! I get my permit just to go out and see this sweet little lighthouse in the middle of the sand dunes. It's very sweet and worth the drive out there!

It is a beautiful peaceful place to stay. We were welcomed by our volunteer host family at a designated parking spot in Provincetown and shuttled to and from the lighthouse for our overnight stay. The views from the lighthouse, beach, our room, and of the sunset were stunning. We had the company of a dozen seals swimming just offshore and... More
