This monument commemorates the Pilgrim's first landing in Provincetown (not Plymouth), where they conceived, wrote and committed to the Mayflower Compact - the foundational document for the democracy America enjoys today. The Monument is the tallest all-granite structure in the U.S. rising 353 feet above sea level, and at the top, visitors are provided the most spectacular view of Cape Cod.In addition to the MOnument, the Provincetown Museum presents the unique cultural heritage of this historic town with special exhibitions and permanent displays. The Monument and Museum has ample parking, is open daily from APril 1st through November 30, and NEW this year - a food concession call the "Shallop Cafe" where visitors can enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking Provincetown and the Bay.

Decent width stairs with frequent landings when climbing the tower. An easier climb than what you will find in some lighthouses. There is a museum included in the admission, but I didn't get a chance to visit the museum because of time constraints. I really...More

Great views of the ocean. Take the stairs up the Pilgrim Monument to get even better views…it's worth the climb.

First the positives, very warm and helpful staff (the guy on the desk was lovely), 23 floors up to the top so great views. Museum mentions everything except the significant influence of gay and lesbian culture which is what (in part) makes PTown a tourist...More

While in Provincetown, we walked over to the tall Pilgrim Monument and read the accompanying plaque. We did not visit the museum. Nothing spectacular about it. It was not open to walk to the top when we were there.

I had a lot of fun here. The monument is definitely an intimidating climb, but the fact that ramps make up much of the climb sure make it easier. I'm certainly not in great shape but was able to complete the climb without many breaks....More

The staff in the museum were SO awesome. They were friendly and fun. This in itself made the experience enjoyable. The climb to the top isn't too bad because it's all just a gentle slope of ramps instead of stairs. There's a beautiful view at...More

The tower has the best view in the area. Build up your energy before you start hiking to the top. It is worth the effort. The museum was standard small town museum.

A trip up many, many steps/ramps is well worthwhile for the stunning vistas in all directions. Museum has artifacts reflecting oceanography and an excellent presentation of the Pilgrims' brave voyage from Europe. Superb taste.

I'm not sure where the ferry comes in but my husband & I both feel it must be. P town is not large at all. Of course this is assuming you are in shape to walk several blocks with no effort.

It will probably take you about 20 minutes to walk from the Monument to the ferry for Long Point. Have fun!
