Off season it’s nice to stroll along the pier with the huts closed and the pigeons perching on the roofs. The Whale Watching Fleet and all the other ships are waiting for the season to come.

MacMillan Wharf is located near the center of Provincetown Harbor near downtown Provincetown. It is just steps off of Commercial Street and is a great place to stroll and check out all the boats and the entire waterfront. There are lots of small retail “shacks”...More

The wharf has everything you want if you like the sea. Plenty of trips, lots of really interesting booths, great views of Provincetown and a busy Marina, what is there not to like.

We parked at the main parking lot in Provincetown. The wharf was just a few hundred feet away. One side had the commercial fishing boats, the other side had the tourist charters. We took some nice photos of Provincetown from the wharf. A great place...More

This is a nice area to see some of the local artists. We also took a whale watching cruise that was the bomb. BUT, parking in that lot is 3.50/hr and there are lots a couple of blocks away that are only $6.00 flat rate...More

I remember when this was a wood pier with kids diving for coins, deep sea fishing party boats and charter boats, open air kiosks, fishing at the end of the pier. Times have changed! Now it's a concrete pier with whale-watching, "cottage kiosks", and crafts....More

Quite a busy place especially if you come on a ferry. They have a lot of things to sell and boats for whale watching and a small pirate museum right on the dock. There are also restrooms at the end of the pier. In the...More

This pier never gets old. While we miss the old fishing charters and tuna boats from the 60's and 70's there is still a touch of the fishing history here. The heavy ferry traffic is a bit of a bummer but the car show held...More

There are sail boats to take trips on as well as Dolphin Fleet whale watching - the only whale watch trip to take at the Cape! Little kiosks selling hand carved wood, jewelry and paintings as well.

Considering the historical significance of the Wharf, and the shows I have seen there during the Tennessee Williams Festival, I love the venue. I hear the parking is great, but we don't have a car when visiting, nor do we use it for P Town...More

I don't believe that there is swimming next to the wharf. You may have to go to the other side of the Cape for that. There are small beaches close by that you can sit and sun bath at.

Yes, located right beside the ferry going to Boston (very end of the pier, farthest away from the land). It was inexpensive, about $4-5 and they allow you to go in and out of your luggage.
