I got to study poetry under the great Alan Shapiro, attend nightly readings and presentations from phenomenal faculty, and produce some great work in an established writing environment. Everyone was so kind and the program was an unforgettable experience for me.

the FAWC is an old institution and well-respected art school. As an art gallery it almost does not rate unless there is a current show of an artist or a group you are interested in. The place has NO guest parking, so you must visit in connection with another Provincetown visit, or take a chance on being ticketed. Of course... More

Nice little museum and well worth the visit. A short walk from the center of town. Support the arts....you can't go wrong!

Not many casual visitors to Provincetown will know about the Fine Arts Works Center, but it is one of the town's principal resources. FAWC offers a full battery of week-long summer workshops for writers and artists, but it has lots to offer the artistically less talented as well. I particularly enjoy the readings by poets ad novelists given in the... More

I spent a week in July at a workshop at FAWC and had an incredible and life changing time, with wonderful professionals and fellow students. The range of workshops is quite wide, and the expertise of the teachers is enormous.

The studio was large, but they didn't have enough taboret tables, so we had to do a bit of shuffling. The instruction was so good, you forgot about being a bit crammed by too large of tables. The facility is nice, people work hard, and are friendly. I stayed off premise, so can't speak of the accommodations.
