Nice beach for families with children. Waves are not so big that you have to worry about your kids. Picnic tables are available to sit and have lunch at while you're overlooking the beach. Short walking distance to shops and restaurants.

The beach is really embarrassing for the place. I mean really. It is tiny and crowded. People sunbathing there were turning their chairs away from the sea. Just a few feet away you can see all sort of trash and oil on the top of...More

This is the perfect beach for someone who wants to drive up and park next to it. Has a nice bath house. Tiny little beach area. And walking distance to all of downtown. Perfect place to stroll with a cup of coffee.

Everything about downtown Rockport is unique including this beach which is located in the middle of the town. The beach is small but it is in perfect proportion to the rest of this adorable, but relatively small downtown area.

This small beach is a nice place to spend an hour or so. You can watch the water come in and out, walk along the beach looking at shells and rocks, or play in the sand. It is not crowded in the off season and...More

This is a small beach with lots of access points. It is dog-friendly EXCEPT during the swimming season - then it's service animals only. (I believe the sign said no dogs June-September.) It's very seaweed-y.

This is a small but beautiful sandy beach that is dog friendly. Not the beach if you enjoy walking for miles, but a cozy cove to easily watch your kids and enjoy the area....sun or rain! Bath house on premises is very helpful.

Our local beach, we walk but there is parking if one drives around or take the commuter rail and walk. Great sunny slounge beach, shade in park across street, gently sloping tidelands, rocks to scramble on, small enough to see everyone and not fear lost!...More

This is a nice little reprieve from the shoppers. If you back yourself up to the wall of the Captains Bounty Motor Inn, you can control the sun a little if you need to. The beach is small but people respect your area (unlike most...More

Sorry, I don't know about Rockport rules. Gloucester has rules about dogs on their beaches but does not allow them "in season" which is April to September. Check with Chamber of Commerce Information booth or call police... More
