This is a small but beautiful sandy beach that is dog friendly. Not the beach if you enjoy walking for miles, but a cozy cove to easily watch your kids and enjoy the area....sun or rain! Bath house on premises is very helpful.

Our local beach, we walk but there is parking if one drives around or take the commuter rail and walk. Great sunny slounge beach, shade in park across street, gently sloping tidelands, rocks to scramble on, small enough to see everyone and not fear lost!...More

This is a nice little reprieve from the shoppers. If you back yourself up to the wall of the Captains Bounty Motor Inn, you can control the sun a little if you need to. The beach is small but people respect your area (unlike most...More

This beach is right in town which makes it convenient --- for everyone. Lots of great beaches within 30 minutes (Crane's for example) if you must have a REAL beach experience.

We stayed in a hotel across from the beach and could hear the waves from our patio. It was a very quiet time in the middle of the week to be at the beach. Sailboats came into the bay around the beach to anchor overnight....More

Not for everyone, but if you have rugged feet or are wearing your water shoes, love cold water, enjoy seagulls swooping right down near you as you swim, and like the mix of travelers and locals, you may love this beach as I do. Rocks,...More

The nicest beach in Rockport. Clean and lovely. Just slip off those shoes and let your tootsies feel the soft sand.

If your looking for long, sandy beaches then Rockport is not the place for you. Front Beach is the least rocky of the beaches that we saw. It is small and cramped. If you want a real beach, head for the Cape.

Sorry, I don't know about Rockport rules. Gloucester has rules about dogs on their beaches but does not allow them "in season" which is April to September. Check with Chamber of Commerce Information booth or call police... More
