Fun, history lesson!

The tour guides for this attraction are fun and funny. Much information about this very old house. Cost of the tour is by donation.

Visited this house in September 2015 for the third or fourth time. It's small, but the staff make it really come alive and you come away feeling you've visited the past. Strongly recommend if you're in the area.

Oldest house in Cape Cod - definitely a historical landmark near the Grist Mill and Christopher Wren church. Not open to look inside when we were there.

This was our second visit here. It is a house full of history, with 2 very knowledgeable guides to take you through it. Learn the history behind sayings we still use today, and learn how people lived back in the 1600s. It is well worth the nominal cost. The guides take their time explaining things in the house, and also... More

We truly enjoyed our visit to Hoxie House, a restored, authentic Colonial house in lovely Sandwich. The guides were very knowledgable and helpful. The house is a typical saltbox of its time and place and is nicely furnished with antiques. Howie House is well worth a visit for all old house lovers and anyone interested in history. Also, be sure... More

Great site for history buffs. The guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. They explained all the items and devices in the house and explained where many of our common phrases stem from. Very enjoyable tour.

I love visiting old homes and getting a chance to see how people use to live. The Hoxie House is a wonderful way to spend an hour or so of your time getting to do just that. The guides were wonderful in explaining the history of the house and the use of all of the artifacts that are present. Just... More

The oldest house on the Cape is worth the visit. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and they gave a detailed tour! So much that I never learned in history class. The artifacts and furniture are thoroughly explained by the docents. This is a little trek from the town if you are walking but well worth the visit! Be sure... More
