Built in 1834, Sandwich Town Hall was restored to its former glory in 2009. The second floor ballroom and theater is particularly beautiful with its historically accurate ceiling stenciling of tan and brown paint and gold leaf. As in the early 1900s, silent films are again presented here complete with a live piano accompaniment. Sandwich Town Hall was granted a Preservation Award for Rehabilitation & Restoration by the Massachusetts Historical Commission in 2011. In 2014 Sandwich, the oldest town on the Cape, will be celebrating its 375th anniversary.

It's a building with a lot of history and apparently the second oldest Town Hall still in use today. It's right next to the Grist Mill and the Shawme Pond so take a pleasant walk around and enjoy.

What a beautiful little town hall. We parked right next to it while heading to Grist Mill. Visiting this little building was a treat. I'm glad I did. It only takes five minutes to see it. When you're done head over to the free town...More

Sandwich has always retained in my memory an elusive nature filled over the years with a kind of yearning and mystery all rolled into one. My Great Grandmothers family is from the area and it was here in Kent that she met my Great Grandfather....More

Sandwich is the oldest town on Cape Cod with the first settlers arriving in 1637. This 1834 Town Hall in the Greek Revival style is worth seeing. It is open to the public during the week. It may be the oldest, continually operating town hall...More

This building sits right in the center of town, scenic and historic. There is an artesian well in front and Shawmee Pond behind it

OK, I'm he first to admit that compared to some places in Europe, 180+ years is not that old, but for the U.S. it's pretty old. Restored (beautifully) in 2009, this building is worth a few minutes of your time for a visit. It's still...More

This is my favorite town on the cape. It is almost like a movie set with the wonderful beaches, quaint B+B's and the stunning old churches. Bring your camera but it is very hard to get an isolated shot of your subject.

Beautiful, imposing structure. The Sandwich Town Hall is right across from the Sandwich Glass Museum. There was a trolley available to go to different sites, but everything is very walkable in Sandwich.
