While visiting Sandwich it was suggested that we go to the famous city boardwalk. We found it very interesting with lots to explore and see while walking to the beach.

So glad we stopped here! Originally built in the late 1800s! A safe nesting place for endangered plovers, don't bring Rover during the nesting season & stay in the boardwalk. It was an unexpected surprise ending up on the beach! Wheelchair accessible, bathrooms on both...More

Beautiful ocean view. Well worth the walk. We found several nice seashells. We can't wait to go back!

We stumbled upon this fun little boardwalk over the marshes on a gloomy morning. The history behind it is interesting and it was fun and a touch scary to walk across. Most of the walk has no railings and it feels high up and narrow,...More

Walking from our B&B on Jarves Street, we peacefully negotiated the streets that took us to the Boardwalk. There is a car park, so don't worry if you don't fancy the initial walk. The Boardwalk crosses marshland and takes you directly to the beach. The...More

This is a pretty spot and a nice walk out over the boardwalk to the beach. We were there in the morning on a weekday and it was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend for locals or visitors.

A great way to get to the beach, some great views too. Interesting reading the inscribed boards too.

Sandwich is made for just wandering around - the houses are charming and straight out of central casting, but step outside the town itself and continue your walk down to the beach. There is a good circular walk using the Boardwalk either on the way...More

It is about 3/4 of a mile in total. If you use the parking lot farthest from the beach, about a 20 minute walk in total
