Stopped here our first day in Cape Cod. Very informative visitor center with plenty of parking. You can stroll the grounds or have a picnic as the ships pass by.

You get a welcome feeling as you enter. You can board a full sized tug boat that is inside the building. Displays and info about the Canal readily available. They also have a small gift shop. Friendly staff. Enjoy!

We had a really good welcome and shown around by the lady on reception. Interesting museum, quite small. Huge car park, presumably for when important ships go down the canal

Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center offers excellent insight into the man-made channel’s origins. The center’s impressively well-designed interactive exhibits entertain young & older kids. They can get inside & Captain a retired 45-foot canal patrol boat "Renier." A 45-seat theater features a movie that tells the story of the canal, the commercial... More

We spent a rainy afternoon exploring the visitor center. The video of the canal's history was very entertaining and educational. It was fun to walk around on the Renier Canal Patrol Boat.

I've been visiting the Cape my whole life and now as an adult with my own kids. On a rainy day we visited the Canal visitor center and spent a good hour there! Kids were well entertained with a scavenger hunt and the various activities there and my husband and I enjoyed all the displays and great information about the... More

This is a great spot to stroll along the canal (or rent a bike), to watch the boats come and go, and also to get the history of the canal.

We called into the center at the start of our visit to Cape Cod, and looking at the photos on the walls and watching the film in the theater really brought our visit to life. We took a walk along the canal itself, it is a lovely place to walk. Great views from the center too from the comfy rocking... More

Great history of the cape cod canal! Many programs to choose from in summer including some night ones! Huge boat to climb on, navigation equipment , fishing games, scavenger hunt, free activity books... just a great place to really appreciate what went into building this modern marvel! See the movie too!
