This was a pretty cool place. Saw a lot of different types of fish. They provided good information on the signs by the fish. Even saw a flock of turkeys. Very educational.

Nothing fancy here, just a bunch of pond full of fish growing. Not enough signage, but helpful staff help.

If you have a half hour or so anyone with young kids should visit the State trout hatchery in Sandwich. There are many runs containing various types and sizes of trout from which the State stocks the many Cape ponds and lakes. You'll see rainbows, browns, bookies, and tigers here. There are also enormous breeder trout. Kids can feed the... More

Ok so free is a good word and this location is completely free. There is not a heck of a lot t see or do though. There is an informative billboard, a fish food quartet machine and a lot of pools with trout. The pools on the right as you enter have the big fish, including, at last check, Dome... More

Free fun activity-I did not feel that the site is totally utilized to its full potential,, there are no restrooms nor walking trails but it is fun to feed the trout and watch them swim

You'll probably be in and out in 15- 45 minutes so if you're in the Sandwich area stop by this wonderfully simple and interesting spot. If you attend when the staff are feeding the trout, it's all the more fascinating and active. Guests can also feed handfuls of pellet food to the trout

Visited there with my wife and 2 teenage children who love nature and who found it totally fascinating, different and unusual. There is a kiosk with information, food that you can buy and watch the fish go crazy! All in all a wonderful 20-30 minute stop.

So many reviewers have commented that it is a great place for kids... well, yes it is, but it also a fun place for adults. We never fail to stop there on our visit to the Sandwich area. And you definitely should spend the quarter and get fish food!
