This is also known at the glacial pots. Very near the Bridge of flowers. Don't miss this town on a good weather day. Nice walk. Good for available and quaint shops. Friendly people.

Salmon Falls was the original name given to the area by the Native Americans, presumably the Mohawks and Penobscots. It was a wonderful fishing area for salmon and shad as well as a hunting area. In order to keep peace in the area, the tribes...More

Had a great afternoon diving into the fresh (cold!) Deerfield River. Great spot for enjoying the view, chatting with "locals" and having a classic Americana afternoon!

The potholes in Shelburne Falls is one of the most evocative sites in the Pioneer Valley. This location has been sacred since before recorded time. When the early settlers stumbled upon the potholes Native Americans had been meeting and fishing there for eons. The 'treaty"...More

About 500' from the bridge of flowers, rather impressive (and beautiful, in a stark way) natural pot holes in the rocks, and the falls that made them.

My husband and me had a great day in Shelburne Falls town and Salmon Falls is one of the reasons. Just follow glacial potholes sign to the viewing area. A quiet beauty in a beautiful town.
