As the town appears to be a “historical company town” with a large optical fabrication factory that once operated in Southbridge, it is fitting to have a large eye glass monument. Staying true to their roots and honoring their past.

It's a great photo opportunity to see the Iconic glasses that American Optical was so famous for during its long history in Southbridge, MA. AO was the major manufacturer of glasses in the United States from the later 1800's until it was moved to Mexico....More

and see the former factory and offices - now a convention center. The Center includes the front facade of the original 1902 factory, and center tower and marble stairwell. This is an exceptional and well done facility.

Perfect place to go sight seeing. It's like a normal pair of glasses, but on a much larger scale. I'd give it a 20/20.

Beautiful monument, very unusual and very fitting for a town which became very famous for the American Optical Company and the eye-glass industry.

Just a large glasses on street, you cant miss it. The park by it is very nice. The hotel conference center across the street has some great information on the first floor.
