This place is awesome! I discovered the Big E when I was in college, and moved down to MA. Everyone kept on talking about the best fair ever. In September, when it rolled around, I discovered what the hype was all about. First all- it is HUGE! It takes placed over a two week period of time from mid September,... More

Tons of great food, local New England crafts and animals for petting! Happens 3 weekends a year, weekends are very busy, I recommend going after school or work. You can find cheap parking down the side streets for between $3-$10.

The best part about going to the BIG E is the state houses. In the state houses, you learn about each state and get to taste and see what each state is all about. Vendors as well as tourism booths are set up to provide more information. The mardi gras parade is also a fun thing for the family. There... More

I started attending "The Big E" when it was known as The Eastern States Exposition back in the late 1950's(I was in first grade)! It was an annual excursion that I attended with my family until I had a family of my own. Then we attended it until my daughter was 8 years old (She is now 34!) and we... More

If you are a local, The Big E is one of those places you either absolutely love, or you avoid like the plague when it is going on. I have always been in the absolutely love category. After you have been at least once a year for the last 4 decades, you've pretty much seen it all and you know... More

A must attend - PUT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST. More than a "country fair". The "state" houses feature the state's major products, etc. Lots of free samples. Try the Maine baked potato, well worth the wait - Lobster roll excellent - wild blueberries too.

Something is always going on here. I've gone to home shows, craft shows, and dog shows. But there's something for every enthusiast almost every weekend. *I won't go to The Big E during their hugest event in September due to the crowds and fear of fried Oreos/pickles/Milky Ways. But that's me and people love the fair. I guess it's a... More
