Audra McDonald is very well know for her work on Broadway but we were luck enough last week to hear her at Mechanics Hall. The Hall has superb acoustics and with the voice like McDonald's it showed her off to her best advantage. Worth attending any event at this wonderful venue.

Beautiful venue, there’s not much else to say about this place. A show, a play, whatever function, they even do high school proms.

We attended a Sunday afternoon concert featuring Yo Yo Ma. The theater is a neoclassical delight, but the true wonder are the incredible acoustics...even have free parking at a nearby garage.

Mechanics Hall is, perhaps, the finest antique in Worcester! The last time I was there I attended a United States Military Band Concert! As I like Sousa's marches and fine acoustics, everything came to life, big time! The ambience of Mechanics is difficult to match or beat. The decorative portions are fit for a king.

Mechanics Hall is an acoustic and architectural marvel. Once the site of performances by Dickens, Thackeray, Pavlova, Caruso, Dvorak and so many others, its sound throughout is breathtaking. The visuals take it a step further: fine portraits, sweeping staircases, towering organ pipes, ceiling murals...a must see for any visitor to Massachusetts.

They hold weekly free concerts on Wednesdays. They call them Brown Bag Lunches. Yes, you take you own lunch and sit and listen to a free concert.

Felt cheated. I bought 2 tickets on group on for an event at mechanics hall on January 31st. It said each ticket value was $49 and I was supposedly getting a great deal by purchasing it through group on for $24 a piece. Instead when I got to the venue I got tickets that were worth only $12.50 a piece, as indicated on the actual ticket. That is wrong and false advertisement to make people think that they are getting a great deal when actuality they are paying 100% more. as well as feeling scammed 😡

This is a beautiful piece of the past that is so wonderful even today. They always have variety of programs...whether it be concerts, graduation ceremonies, naturalization (for citizenship) ceremonies, "brown bag" concerts, and my favorites Men of Song acapella & holiday concerts. The acoustics are superb and the hall itself is absolutely stunning. From a past history of speakers like Susan B. Anthony, boxing, roller skating and then the renovation and saving of a wonderful historic venue in Worcester that has seen YoYoMa and many other "known" and "up and coming" persons/performers. Many thanks to all who helped keep Mechanics Hall in today's life!

Love seeing plays at Mechanics Hall! Students have enjoyed Charlotte's Web and Aesop's Fables here. Pretty venue and impressive architecture ~ Worcester's gem. A great wedding venue as well. Love the history and stately detail of this magestic beauty.
