Hands down best sunset I've ever seen. Nothing else to do there, but just google what time the sun sets, and then arrive 20 minutes beforehand. They also have bathrooms there, but keep in mind they close at 8pm.

Just like the other 5 star reviews, this amazingly stunning vista/beach is a must see. The marsh goes out for miles and the long pier is delightful to stroll out to. Very quiet and still, with little boat traffic in the fall. not really a "beach" on the 6A side, more of a strolling...but across the way the beach was very long and looked beautiful.

One of my favorite walks on our trip! We bypassed the small beach area to take a walk along the beautiful boardwalk. We walked across the marsh, stopping to view the birds and aquatic life. At the end of the walkway is a small sitting area where you can take a few minutes to sit and enjoy the view. Parking is free.

We ended up at Gray's Beach after seeing it recommended here on Trip Advisor. We went at low tide and it was so cool to see all the marsh areas teeming with crabs! We loved the walk down the boardwalk and got some fun pictures. Its worth a visit if you passing by!

The best boardwalk on the Cape. I was amazed how beautiful and scenic the views are at this location. The boardwalk is built above a marsh with meandering salt waterways hosting a variety of sea life including schools of small fish ( killies, flat-fish, etc.), crabs, shellfish, and a solitary two foot stripped bass. Overall it appears it's one big nautical nursery. The beaches are small and while beautiful are majorly overshadowed by the beauty of the marsh. I could have stayed for hours enjoying the marine views.

We saw Grey’s Beach and it’s boardwalk mentioned as something to do in Yarmouth. The boardwalk extends out over a marsh. There is s small beach and lots of great marsh views. We went with our five year old grandson and walked the boardwalk and looked for sea life and talked about tides. We didn’t see a sunset there but I image they would be sensational. This is well worth an hour of you time to see and walk. This would be a great place to read a book and enjoy the setting - before or after the summer rush.

Free parking with lifeguards. At low tide there are two small tidal channels with islands of sand in the middle. The first channel is low enough for small children to wade to the sandbar island. The second channel wider but only waist deep at its deepest point. Below that there is over a half mile of white sand leading to dunes which then go out onto sand bars for long distances in both directions. It's just amazing. The swimable channel zigzags the sandbars all the way out. There also is a 800 foot narrow broadwalk over the flats leading to a great view of the expansive tidal flats. A must see.

With so much of the coast inaccessible as private land, or costing a small fortune to park, it is welcoming to have a free, (and dog free thank goodness) quiet place to sit and rest and look over the Bay. Here at Gray's beach, a nice boardwalk and benches await the Cape Cod traveler. We visited several time during our say in and around Yarmouth Port. Birding was average the times we visited but not everyone goes for birding. This is not a place to go to walk along the beach. There you have to find elsewhere and good luck finding a beach to park at for less than a $20 parking fee.

Being a Yarmouth Port townie, this is really our only beach on the 6A side. If you live in YP, you know grays beach is the place to go to see sunset, and the sunsets never disappoint here! This is a tiny beach that offers a lot. The boardwalk which is beautiful in every season, great for watching crabs, fish, osprey or sunset. It is perfect for walking off season or early, as 3 trips out to the end of the boardwalk and back equal a mile, and you can't fault the view of the lovely marsh where dear, coyote and other animals can be spotted from time to time. A small beach that is great for kids, a boat ramp for launching your kayak, canoe, boat, or stand-up paddleboard. Also walking trails not far away, a playground and picnic area for kids and public bathrooms in the summer. And the best kept secret, its free to park there.

How do you purchase a plank in the boardwalk?
Written December 26, 2015
I am not allowed to include a website link in a response, so visit the town of Yarmouth website at yarmouth dot ma dot us to purchase the plank for $150 from the Town of Yarmouth.
Click the boardwalk plank link, select register from activities from the right column. Then click support/fundraiser/merchandise. Then click boardwalk planks and you will see a link for a mail in or online registration form. I look forward to seeing your plank out there!
