The Sawmill tube and canoe rental appears to be permanently closed. Was at the park across the street and saw no signs of commerce. Going down the river on tubes past the normally busy shore was tall weeds. Looks to be permanently closed.

Had a blast tubing on the Muskegon River. Guys at the Livery were friendly. Pay the extra $5 and get the better tube. You'll appreciate it in the end 😊

Honestly, we were a bit leery when we arrived. The low price (10$ or 15$ pp for the two hour trip) and the relatively rustic appearance of the grounds made us wonder what we were getting into. However, this is an activity that can be as much fun as you make it. We did the two-hour tube trip (took about 1:45 as we did NOT get out of the tubes) and rented the 15$ tubes. The 10$ tubes are the basic black inner-tube tubes. The 15$ tubes are the newer style with or without bottoms. The gentleman who checked us in suggested adults use bottomless tubes as the water was a bit low; the kids had the option. All the kids also used bottomless tubes, but the youngest (12) should have had a bottom. She had a hard time holding herself up. A tube for the cooler is available for 5$ and twine to tie the tubes together is 1$. I suggest having your own clothesline to tie tubes. There are places to get out, there are small rapids, and there are spots we did not move without some effort on our part. There are also trees and branches on the bank, so I suggest smaller children stay to the inside of the group. The exit is on the left, and we were floating on the right side when we came to it, so some furious kicking (or in my case, I just got out of the tube) has to happen to make the exit. Overall, this adventure exceeded all of our expectations. We were glad we did it and would do it again.

What a great way to spend an afternoon! Our group of nine teenagers and adults thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit. The river has a nice combination of gentle floating and minor rapids. The water was kind of low so we had to make sure our bottoms were up high at some points. This facility offers a nice selection of tubes at a great price. The river is beautiful with gorgeous scenery the entire way. There are restrooms for changing in and out of bathing suits and a restaurant with a nice deck overlooking the river right next door. This was a completely stress-free afternoon. We will be back next year!

Great place to get on the river. They know what they're doing and make it so easy. Also very affordable.
