This is a good beach but gets very busy in the middle of summer! Be prepared to wait for entry plus you have to pay to get into it per car. The beach is clean mostly and has a little store and gift shop. It is regulated by the park rangers and has large dunes to climb.

This was my second time visiting the park. I was on a trip to Joliet and was traveling with my Mom. She had never been to the park and wanted to see the dunes and the beaches. I will start off by saying, I realize this is the "off season" for this area, and that may be part of the... More

We’ll be back to visit this gem in SW Michigan. We hiked this park on a Friday in mid-September, meaning that that there we nearly alone. The hiking through the woods was shaded and peaceful as well as mostly level. Be prepared with mosquito repellent. You will experience the occasional rise through sand dunes on the trail—you are at Warren... More

This was my second visit here. Both occasions were at the end of September on a Monday. As a result, there were only a few other cars in the main parking lot and we weren't worried about leaving our expensive bikes hanging on the car. The facilities do need an upgrade, but it looked like construction was underway. I imagine... More

We like hiking and greatly enjoyed Warren Dunes. I'll caution that you need to adjust your expectations of distance here. We thought a 3 mile hike was a bit short until we got into it. Much of the trail is on sand and this certainly is more taxing than solid ground. Then combine this will some serious ups and downs... More

Warren Dunes has a dog friendly stretch of beach which we visit every year with the pups. It does costs $9 to enter the park, which is okay if it helps conservation. Our activities with the dogs are restricted to one area, but there is a long stretch of beach for other visitors, as well as pleasant walks up the... More

Out of state, been driving for 7 hrs. Expected campsites to be on or close to the water. Water was 2 miles away and as we had an early start the next morning, we missed it all. Expensive-we paid $40.00 for basic camping with loud highway noises .

We went on Labor Day which was crowded. The beach is so long you did not feel overcrowded which was nice. The water was very cold but seemed clean. It was pretty calm as well. The bathrooms are ridiculous for this size beach. They are old, outdated, run down and there is nowhere to change! Tight stalls, which get dirty... More
