Description:

Morley Candy Makers is the place where Sanders chocolate and desserts are...

Morley Candy Makers is the place where Sanders chocolate and desserts are created. Our free factory tour is perfect for all ages, and can be customized to fit your group's needs. Our facility is also handicap accessible. Each tour includes a video, a guided walk down our observation hallway to see candy makers at work, free chocolate samples and a stop in our fun candy & gift shop.

The first Sanders store opened on June 17, 1875. By the 40's and 50's Sanders products and stores became woven into the traditions of Detroit families. Going to Sanders for a Sundae during a downtown trip, blowing out birthday candles on a Sanders cake and sharing laughs over a bowl of ice cream covered in Sanders Hot Fudge became the standard. Today, there are 10 Sanders locations and our products are shipped throughout the world via our online shop.

The candy & gift shop connected to our factory is open daily (9a - 9p, Monday - Saturday and 11a - 5p on Sundays). Tours are typically only available on weekdays during regular production hours. Please call or email for current tour schedule.

An interesting tour beginning with a short film about chocolate. The actual "tour" was a 50 foot long hallway. (Where we looked through glass at the factory). Not at all what we expected. A little disappointing. Wish we could have seen where they make their famous hot fudge topping, chocolate Easter bunnies, and bumpy cakes. Needless to say, you end... More

The candy is definitely worth the visit. Nice assortment of Saunders Candy. Might even get to watch the candy being made.

We called at the last minute and were able to schedule a tour. Since it was a random Tuesday afternoon, we were the only people on our tour. The tour was short, but interesting and our tour guide was really nice. The gift shop is filled with delicious treats to purchase as well as an ice cream/coffee shop. I would... More

Went with 2 young children. The 5 year old enjoyed it. The 10 year old was a little bored. Over all good time, enjoyed the ice cream after. It's free and a good way to enjoy an hour together.

A little local history. The tour is FREE and very well done, you do need to call ahead and make a reservation. They have a 15 minute video on the history and harvesting of cocoa and afterwards you get a guided tour and watch through glass as some amazing, delicious chocolates are made. You end the tour in a cute... More

Enjoyed the informational video on the history of Sanders and how chocolate is made. Also enjoyed watching the candy getting made on the factory line. Also bought way too much chocolate in the the store, but enjoyed it all.
