We stopped here on our way to the Chicago area from Ottawa. Despite the noisy crowd in the tasting room we were welcome by the staff and enjoyed our tasting. We purchased a couple of bottles. The wine quality was excellent and actually most unexpected. We'll have to stop by on our return trip and get some more!

Contessa is one of my favorite wineries on the southwest Michigan wine trail. The winery and tasting room is really cute! They have a lot of seating outside and on a beautiful day, there's no where better to enjoy a glass of wine and some great company. The tasting room is located just a short distance off the highway and is... I've been here twice when picking or buying fruit at the nearby orchards. The tasting room is on a hill with multiple porches to sit outside on nice days. Very pleasant setting. Unfortunately, the wine is not very good. The reds I've tried there taste as if the (underripe) fruit was grown on very young vines. It was actually difficult... More

Stopped off, on the way to Coloma festival, to sample the wines. They have some great tasting wines...just need to staff up for a Saturday better; since, it took way too long to get service. The ladies that work there are very nice, courteous and pleasant --- the manager needs a lesson in "customer service".

This is our detour stop whenever we are on the freeway nearby. The owner is voluble and gracious. Always fun to talk to him while we pick up a bottle of tried and true blueberry wine , and a few other varieties to try. Never disappointed. Enjoy a beautiful view with your wine tasting or wine purchase. Then head for... More

Although outside food is allowed and we brought a picnic lunch, there is no shade on a hot day. The tasting size was adequate and the wines were alright but no comparison to the big operations like Round Barn.

My husband and I stopped in yesterday for a tasting. The views and location are beautiful and the tasting room had a wonderful deck to enjoy the expansive vineyards. The ladies working the counter were nice and the wine good. I'll be honest their wines weren't our favorite compared to other wineries as I think they catered more to those... More

My husband and I were on vacay in MI and stub led upon this winery. I wish I could remember the owner's name. Nice guy! Great wine! Well worth the small fee for tasting. Made me realize what kind of wine I actually enjoy, dry sweet. Brought 3 bottles of different ones home. Love the design of the bar and... More

Contessa winery was a nice outing. The Chardonnay was mildly Oakes which I prefer. Thee on Reds were decent. Not as bold as west coast but worth buying. Bottles were on the higher end for Michigan, running about 25-30 per bottle. Don't forget to stop at the chocolate store at the end of the driveway.

This was one of my favorite wineries. First of all, it is beautiful. The decor inside and out is decorated beautifully. The owner Ti y was so kind to my daughters and I. The wine was outstanding. The view was outstanding. We can't wait to come again.
