As a result of being born and raised in the city of Detroit, I thought I knew everything there was to know about the city. After visiting this venue, I realized how little I really know about the city. The facility is well run by knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Detroit's history is presented in an educational manner that is both... More

Went to see local DETROIT artists exhibit. Impressed by the variety of mediums, creativity, quality and dedication of artists. Particularly the work from In Art Trust.

I have had the honor of hosting a poetry open mic in the auditorium for the past four years on MLK Day. There is so much to do here aside from poetry. Walk the streets of old Detroit to get a feel for the rich history of the D. The museum is free and open to the public every day.... More

We didn't have much time and wanted to take our son to a museum. We try first the Piquette Plant but it was close -Sunday- then after checking TripAdvisor we found this one and we really enjoy it. Lots of information and artifacts in a very nice multimedia setting. A nice addition was that admission is free and you just... More

Some very interesting exhibits, especially about Detroit industry during WW2. Loved the car assembly. But of course it was the Meier Clock (which I almost missed) that lit me up. This museum has something for all ages.

I really enjoyed this museum - it covered the history of Detroit from its settlement through present day, with a great deal of information and exhibits on the vehicle industry, sports, music scene, the underground railroad and social/cultural issues. The downstairs consists of the Streets of Old Detroit, where you can walk through the cobblestone "streets" and visit old stores... More

Fun place to visit, especially for the price (free! But we did leave a small donation). Interesting history of detroit, some art work, some ww2 history, and a walk through of the old streets of detroit. Took us about 2 hours to go through it, and we hurried. Highly recommended.

We have taken our kids there since they were 5 or 6 and they really enjoy it, the basement attractions are their favorite. It truly can entertain people 5-95. This place is a gem!
