Detroit is full of incredible buildings that were designed by prominent architects and adorned by intricate sculptures. Taking a ride in the people mover allows you to view details you'd normally miss while driving.

Used this to go from the Renaissance Hotel to the conference center and back for the Auto show. Used it again that evening for dinner in Greek town. Very safe clean and not crowded.

A group of friends used this to get downtown for lunch from the Cobo Center during the North American International Auto Show. It's cheap for the service. Cars were fairly clean. And the staff at the terminals were very helpful with all the tourists in town.

During a quick stop in Greektown we decided to show our kids Detroit and the People Mover was perfect. There were police officers stationed throughout- sometimes at the entrance, sometimes on the platform and sometimes on the train. Bring $1 bills if there are only a couple of you, otherwise a crisp $5 bill will do. The machine does not... More

Great if you're staying in the Downtown Area without a car! We were staying at the Aloft Detroit at The David Whitney which is centrally located if you want to go to the Comerica Park, Ford Field or the Hockeytown Cafe. We, however, needed to go to the Joe Louis Arena, and for 75 cents was able to take the... More

On the train there is a red button that goes to the controller. I had 2 men following me and jumped the turnstile. I merely pressed that button..the train stopped at the next one and 2 police escorted them off. They may or may not have been harmful but it was nice to have them off. Since the train is... More

The People Mover is a well thought out option for travel. Most stations are right inside either apartment buildings, hotels or convention centers meaning there's really no need to take taxis or stand out in the cold. It cost around 75cents - there are token machines on the platforms and the route guide shows all the restaurants and attractions easily... More

As a resident metro Detroiter, I think this was only the second time I've ever ridden on the DPM. It was relatively cheap - $0.75 per person, kids 5 and under are free. It quickly gets you to a number of locations within the downtown Detroit area - South of 75, west of 375 and East of the Financial district.... More

Easy and safe way to explore Detroit & super cheap. However, one of my friends got stuck on it as the doors only remained open 4 less than 10 seconds because of some issue at another stop. Unlike other cities, no conductor on train but controlled by computer.
