The Detroit People Mover (DPM) is a fully automated light rail system that operates on an elevated single-track loop in Detroit's central business district. Launched in 1987, the system’s 13 stations provide quick connections between the courts and administrative offices of several levels of government, sports arenas, exhibition centers, major hotels, and commercial, banking and retail districts. Service is frequent and unencumbered by vehicle or pedestrian traffic, and at just 75 cents per ride, it’s the best bargain in town!

The above the ground Detroit subway is what I call it.

I remembe rwhen this was built I knew it was going to be a great ride and give a wonderful view as you rode past iconic scenery in Detroit's downtown area, I love it.

Hey I must have seen 4 different DPD officers in uniform between the 2 riding the mover myself and my wife were on as well as 1 at each station I boarded and exited. We have a CPL and are from here. So we aren't to worried about crime. But for those that are, hey I felt secure... It costs... More

We hoped on the People mover in the financial district next to our hotel. It gave us a great tour of the down town area and at .75 you could get to many places easily. Our boys got on and off very close to Ford Feild and my daughter and I went down to Greek town for supper and a... More

It's $.75 and a fun way to get an over view of the city. We were there during a sporting event, so kinda cool to see the locals in their colors. They didn't win, so weren't in a great mood. But very pleasant considering! Apparently, you can park for free at one of the stops, then take the tram around.

For only 75 cents you can have a quick self guided tour of the heart of Detroit. From the soon to close Joe Louis Arena , to Greektown and the Renaissance center and river walk are all accessible.

We love to take out of town guests on a ride on the People Mover so they can get a bird's eye view of downtown before we hit the streets. Can't wait for the Q-Line to open for business so we can combine the two modes of public transportation for an even more fun experience!

Our 8-year old way dying to ride the mover so we looped the city. For 75 cents per person you can't beat the price or the views.

You can park anywhere you like near the People Mover and move on to go to a game if you like. Each station has beautiful tilework, each a bit different, which is fun to see.

The people mover sucks and if you knew how much it cost back when it was built you would be shocked that anyone who approved or managed the budget of this didn't do jail time. It should be called the Kwame mover. The Atlanta tram and Disney tram are 100x better than this. If you are 5 years old you... More
