Eclectic Detroit gem

It's something you don't see everyday, it's strange but totally fascinating. A lot of art in one place, definitely recommend it!

Highly recommended for photographers and art enthusiast who enjoy the "wabisabi" style of Detroit. However, I wouldn't call this a tourist attraction for the masses.

Special kind of art. The artist got tired of seeing vacant houses and vacant lots and decided to make the eye sore artistic

Brought my nephew here today, because I think the place has such a great story. There is so much story to all of the pieces around. So much history, so much amazing spirit felt on the whole block. It's bewildering to the eyes to see. There is so much to take in but you can see how something small, led... More

Eclectic. It makes you aware of our Detroit environment. You might run into Tyree. Get a tee shirt. It may be the only thing left after he tears it down

Visiting from Toronto, I wanted to see all of Detroit - the good, the bad, and (like the Heidelberg project is an example of)- the Uber talented and creative genius that Detroit citizens have birthed. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful Fall day and even to get to meet the man who started it all Tyree along with... More

I wanted to visit the Heidelberg Project for a long time, and was not let down when I finally made it here. It is incredible. The street is approached by driving through a neighborhood that clearly has suffered from Detroit's economic downtrend, so the stage is set for reflection upon those who live there/have lived there. We were pressed for... More

Never seen anything like it before. It's art or trash, depending on your point of view. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Not to be missed, if only for the sheer strangeness of it all.

Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. We spent about 15 minutes wandering around the strange assortment of creepy old toys and miscellaneous junk.

We loved exploring the Heidelberg Project on our recent trip to Detroit. We visited early in the morning (10am-ish) on a Saturday when no one was really around and had a great time wandering around.
