Great shape, not too hard

I'm a 8-10 handicap and this course plays easier than some, easier than West for sure. Great shape and great service at the clubhouse. They really ram in tee times when I was there (8 minutes apart) which makes for slow play many times, so don't go if you are in a hurry. Driving Range is excellent as is the... More

Very nicely groomed course and delightful people there to help you out. Leagues are playing this time of year so call for reservations.

Nice course for the money. Staff was friendly and we were able to play 9 holes when we originally reserved 18.

I have golfed this course twice in the last two months and both times the pace of play was ridiculous and not managed well at all. The first time we golfed here it took five and a half hours to play 18 holes, having to wait10 to 15 minutes at each hole. Today was not any different. We love MSU... More

This is the less glamorous of MSU's two 18 hole courses, but still a very, very good course. It's also right next to MSU's award winning practice facility, so it's great to warm up and then wander right over to the first hole. The layout is fair for golfers of all levels and the maintenance is usually excellent. Greens are... More

I really enjoy playing this course. It may be because of the Spartan connection initially, but as I walk the course, I'm reminded of how well its laid-out, especially the par threes. Again, its a nice layout, but the course itself needs some work. There are fungal infections all over the course that is killing the grass. Other than that... More

It had been 40 years since I played it as a student! I barely remembered many of the holes, but what a great fun course! I was most impressed with the younger players being taught there as a summer clinic as I had to play through several groups. They have been taught the golf etiquette and proper ways to play... More

Forest Akers East Course is basicly flat. The course is in very nice condition. There is some repairs being done. Particularly on the 18th hole. Water comes into play on only one hole, #7. Some sand traps on the course. 4 sets of tees for 6452, 6189, 5705 and 4707-yards. Men it is a par-72 course, for women a par-70.... More
