It appears the parking lot and other parts of the park are under major construction. Still able to find free parking close to the beach and a view of the lighthouse.

Beautiful Lake Michigan beach with amenities. Food options, volleyball, kids playground, etc. I mention the 'State Park' factor, because if you have a State Park recreation license plate, you can park right there for free.

There is a picnic area adjacent to the beach, not directly on the beach. There's also a sheltered picnic area.
