On Thursday evenings (early July- August) the GRAM has free concerts from 6-9 pm. Concerts are held outside the museum, food trucks are parked in front, and there is a cash bar. Admission to the museum is free during this time.

Full disclosure--we are members of GRAM, so I am biased. That said, GRAM is a wonderful museum. Its central location makes it convenient to other downtown Grand Rapids museums, restaurants, and entertainment. The building itself is a piece of art, and the fact that it's LEED...More

Wonderful building, quiet, bright and airy. Exhibits are well presented and curated. While few of the exhibits are spectacular, there are some interesting pieces, particularly the furniture. Current exhibition of etchings by Whistler and contemporaries is delightful

There are some lovely features of this museum and offers some lovely exhibitions. The intimacy of the small concerts they have is as sweet as the quality of the music. It's a great way to spend some time.

The visit happened to be free on the day we visited courtesy of Meijer, which was a pleasant surprise. The main feature was the "Where the Wild Things Are" artwork from the author of the children's book. It was very cool to see in person...More
