Busy in the morning.
May 2021 • Solo
Visited this area on a cold May morning. It was still busy with people jogging or walking around the lake. There sporting fields galore in this park park, as well as a golf driving range, rowing clubs parts of the Formula One Precinct and the Melbourne Sports Centres.

Home of the Australian F1 Grand Prix
Aug. 2020
Albert Park is a suburb of Melbourne, some 3 km (2 miles) from the city centre. Albert Park.has become an up-market residential area. The residences are spacious and the area is well maintained. There's also a popular park in the area. Internationally, Albert Park is best known for hosting the F1 Australian Grand Prix, traditionally the first F1 Grand Prix of the motor racing season. The Grand Prix is usually held in March.

Once A Swamp Now A Great Asset
May 2020
There are few cities with a 2.25 square kilometre park at its doorstep (3 kilometres south) which includes the lake of some 0.5 square kilometres. Once a series of swamps and lagoons and used as a garbage dump and military base it was made into a lake in 1854 and named after Queen Victoria's Prince Albert. The walk around the lake is just under 5 kilometres and well-worth doing on a nice day. Some areas of the lake and particularly the palm plantation along the east bank needs some attentions (broken concrete and weeds) . You can also get get views of the CBD from the west and south side of the lake. Too bad about the excessive (rip-off) parking fees at $5.20 per hour.but all things considered a great place for a walk.

Walking on the weekend
Apr. 2020
Albert Park seemed to be a bit busier than Bourke St on the weekends. We are distancing ourselves from others, so we headed here to avoid the crowds on Beaconsfield Pde, but it was still busy! Lots of respect from most, and distancing was easy. Lots of space!

Mar. 2020 • Solo
Great jog around park. Grass is green but if junk in the water but the Seans seem to love it. I was there day before closing for Grand Prix so was lucky to get a run in before closing. It’s about 4.2 k one way around.

Lovely walk around the lake.
Feb. 2020 • Family
Great place to walk the family around a lovely lake. Gets a bit windy at times but generally worth being out and about on a nice day. See ducks, geese and swans whilst walking the dog.

Pretty but....but dont ever take your dog or child...its dangerous
Sep. 2019 • Solo
The grounds are pretty, its a fantastic walk around the lake, unfortunately its full of rubbish. The biggest down fall is the fact that no one else seems to know how to read and pretty much every dog is off lead, the designated off lead area is part of the walk, not that it matters because people never have their dogs on lead or under control. They allow their dogs to do what they like even while you ask, yell or scream for them to grab their dog, especially in the on lead area...ive lost count of the amountof times my young dog has been attacked, while on lead and in the on lead area. Doesnt matter what time of day or night you go. She is petrified and dog aggressive.... did i mention she is meant to be in training as my assistant dog....who now thanks to irresponsible owners, a lax council who doesnt enforce any local laws, will more than likely fail.

Grand Prix track
Aug. 2019 • Friends
German family wanted to experience the Grand Prix track whilst in Melbourne. It was something we hadn’t done ourselves so a shared experience. They loved it and really appreciated the track being available to drive on. We enjoyed seeing the city of Melbourne from a different vantage point - it looked beautiful.
