Took the family to check out the museum over spring break. It has a lot of fun things to see. The displays are well done and the people they have walking around telling people about the displays are knowledgeable and entertaining. We had a great time and will be returning soon.

This museum was our first stop on a homeschool field trip of the capitol. Displays of history (with a focus on Michigan) from prehistory to the 1950's were full of artifacts, informational displays, and interactive elements. While not "hands on" there are areas where signs indicate when touching is encouraged. Wander through a copper mine, walk around a saw mill,... More

We went here years ago and decided to revisit. It doesn't seem like any changes were made since our first visit. They displays are nice and the history is rich. It isn't as hands on as our society seems to demand now. Very, very low tech displays. Lots of sign reading. There is some very cool stuff and we enjoyed... More

The Center has 3 floors but it also provides an elevator. The displays were well detailed and exhibits were clean and fascinating. I learned a lot and recommend this. Two things to Note we went on a Saturday they do not have a Snack Shop like the web site says. Its closed on Saturday and Sundays. They have 3 vending... More

We were visiting Lansing for the first time and it was pouring outside. We went on Trip Advisor and found the amazing place. Our family truly enjoyed everything about the museum. The museum was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The exhibits were amazing and all the hands on things were a lot of fun, even for us... More

We take our grandkids here at least once a year. This is an excellent museum on the history of Michigan. Many of the displays have been updated recently. There is a lot of hands on displays that children can interact with. Our grandkids love it, and so do we! The price is affordable, and you get a discount on adult... More

We visited from out of state with our son's family. Sunday afternoons are free, so you cannot beet the price. We had a one year old with us that loved all of the hands-on displays. The staff love to share stories about all on display. Very nicely done Michigan.

Great variety of exhibits. Visited with my family (kids 8 and 11) and their grandparents, we all learned new things about Michigan and enjoyed spending time together. The museum is laid out chronologically, so you travel through time as you move from exhibit to exhibit. There is something for everyone, and the docents are very friendly and offer extra tidbits... Nice museum, well laid out. My husband and I learned a lot about the Michigan History. We spent about 3 hours and saw most of the exhibits. White pine in the middle of the building was cool.
