One of the best views of Lake Michigan sunsets you can find. We were also here during a stormy period and the waves crashing over the breakwater were spectacular to see.

On a warm day you will see dozens of people walking out to the light. A great place to watch the carferry Badger enter and leave port. Do not try this on a cold or windy day, in fact if the weather is too bad,...More

The wind was blowing around 25 mph and the SS Badger was coming in - made for some very neat pictures and videos.

I love lighthouses so whenever we visit Ludington, we stop to walk the pier. I’ve been inside the light house once. It’s small but interesting to be inside. Love watching the waves break, the sun set here.

Our family loves to walk out on the Ludington Breakwater to the lighthouse prior to sunset, at the time when the LMC Badger car ferry leaves for Manitowoc, WI. Take flattering low light photos of the family and get pictures of the 550' ship sailing...More

This relatively narrow breakwater can be treacherous with high seas or icy conditions. With daylight and normal conditions, it's a lovely spot for a walk. You can greet the Badger car ferry every day during the summer around 7pm each day. If you're going out...More

The big adventure is walking the break wall out to the Lighthouse. It's a very popular activity through out the day, and even more so at sunset, when the SS Badger is departing for Wisconsin. We were able to get some very nice photographs of...More

Such a nice walk out to this lighthouse. Gorgeous views looking back at the shoreline (minus the swimming beach view). Parking was a bit sketchy on a hot muggy, busy beach day :)

We have toured this lighthouse before but I had forgotten how steep the ladders were to climb to the top. One thing I didn't remember also, was that we couldn't access the outside of the lighthouse once we reached the top. They were also doing...More
