This is worth seeing on a walk. Other option was to take a carriage ride. On a walk you see a lot that you would not see on a carriage.

It is a beautiful view thru the arch onto the bay. You can walk up along side of the arch and get excellent pictures to impress your friends (we did). This is one of the stops on the carriage tour, but you can hike it...More

It is a rock. I've been to arches national park in Utah so it looked like other ones. 207 steps up if you take the stairs. I guess there is a road to it too.

To see it from the top requires climbing a lot of stairs, but worth the effort. Note that you can see this from the trail below as well, but won't get pics with water in the background.

We rented bikes and biked around the island making a stop to Arch Rock. It was well worth the 240-step climb to the top but my legs are still paying the price!

Loving nature, Arch Rock did not disappoint. The formation is very unique and gave a great view of the water. Don't miss it!

We biked around the island and this was our first stop. It is several steps to reach the top but well worth it. The view is amazing. Long walk but worth it.

We toured around the island on our bicycle and this was one of our first stops. It's several steps up from the road but definitely worth the effort to get up there.

Great place for a photo! Native Indians believed that this place represented the door to the spirit world.

I'm thinking about sending my 16 year old kid and his girlfriend there for a day trip away from the parents. Is he going to be barred from any activities because he's under 18 without an adult? He tried to camp at a state park before and they wouldn't let him pitch a tent unaccompanied by an adult.

I do not think they should have any trouble it is on an open trail down from the fort. Many young adults and kids are out at the Arch the past two times we were there. It is definitely worth the trip and youth friendly.

I don't think the things on the island actually open until May, and the other reviewer is correct that it seems like Memorial Day is the time it really kicks off. Keep in mind that they still get snow in April since they... More

Hi. Is it a flat trail or hilly from Fort to Rock Arch? I've had ankle surgery so was debating walking or biking, depending on terrain. :)
