Such a wonderful afternoon taking in the history of Mackinaw City and Lake Superior. I love the fact that there is an actual archeological excavation going on and you are free to interact with them and ask questions...more so, they are happy to talk with...More

If you have to choose one for or the other (Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island), we would suggest this one (but try to make it to both). Such great history and information.

This is a great spot for not only learning the history of Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island but to also watch a current archaeological Expedition on site. There is a lot of fascinating history here.

The state is slowly rebuilding this site from archeological ruins. It is fascinating and very well done. The students who interpret are great. If you are into Michigan, French or British history, don't miss this.

Awesome to see. Teens liked the history. A must see on your adventures to the U.P. The history beautifully maintained. Live cannon shot of couple times daily. The site itself and details enhance the visit. The view from the Fort is breathtaking.

Even if it is annoying to pay the full adult price for 2 teenage kids the experience was great! Lots of guides in costumes gave explanations, the buildings provided a lot of insight and interesting and unusual exhibits. The location right next to Mackinaw bridge...More

We also did the $75 family pass and for us the option worked great as we stayed over several days and could take in different sites throughout our stay.
