Love Magoon Creek. Has a great picinic area that overlooks Lake MIchigan. Also trails to the lake with plenty of parking available. Also has restrooms.

This is one of the best spots for a lakeside picnic or stroll on the beach in three counties. I'm not sure if it's run by Manistee County or one of the local townships, but it features three things, all of them spectacularly nice: a wooded bluff overlooking Lake Michigan with benches, picnic tables and hibachis; a very nice little trail system; and the beach, on which you can walk for miles. If you come here, respect it! It's a precious resource, worthy only of your best behavior.

Hidden local gem with nice trails, natural beach on Lake Michigan and picnic area on bluff! PCA property adjoins Magoon natural area to make it larger.

My wife and I recently discovered this nice little hideaway about 3 weeks ago and we've been going back almost every day since. whether you're looking to just throw down some beach chairs and relax or rock hounding for the beaches abundant supply of beautiful stones, glass, and occasional Petoskey stones. This location is typically not to busy because it's out of town and doesn't have bathrooms or food stands. But really, if you're looking for tropical green water and some privacy away from the big beaches, this is the place. Little tip tho, pack a small cooler, and have water shoes! Have fun!!!!

We picked this spot to caught a sunset on Lake Michigan while vacationing in the area. We parked at the Magoon Creek entrance and took the short hike to the beach. This hidden spot is amazing for hiking along the beach and rock collecting. We found a few pieces of sea glass and Petosky stones. There is no restrooms here but was told the Douglas Park entrance has some. I'd love to go here again to collect rocks and walk the beach but I live 5 hours away. :(
