They have more visitors this year than the past years, probably due to the longer scope of Express Way. They have expanded Baluarte and added a Museum at the top hill and small cottages overlooking the province and free shuttle rides for those who doesnt want to walk uphill. Unfortunately, I no longer saw the foreign horses that we used... More

The place does not feel like a zoo, instead it is a private collection of animals and his own personal "backyard" that is opened to the public. Yes, there are animals that you can enjoy and even a place where you'll find dioramas and trophies of animals, like lions, water buffalos, bears, gazelles, etc. They are constructing a sea lion... Plus - place is free, spacious, grounds are kept clean and there are various animals the kids will delight in seeing - kangaroos, deer, ponies and an ostrich that roams the ground majestically like he owns the place. Animals are clean, appear healthy and well-fed and cared for. Kids will enjoy and there are stores to buy souvenirs and food... More

We went here last Sunday, with senior citizens, adults and young kids. Everyone enjoyed. Entrance is free, but the shuttle ride cost 50/person (regardless of age) and 40/senior citizen. There is a new attraction that was not there when I first visited in 2011, and that is the animal museum where you will see preserved actual images of elephant, tiger,... More

When people who own such places of interest, their main focus should be to have clean rest rooms at all times for the public to use without being disgusted of its facilities. I've been here 3x with friends and relatives several years apart. The tall structure within the compound has changed but never the bathrooms.

I took the Partas Bus from Pasay and arrived at Vigan in the wee hours of the morning. We subsequently had our breakfast at the Public market opposite the bus terminal. As it was early, I was unable to check-in into my hotel and decided to visit Baluarte which is located at about 15 mins car ride from the bus... More

This place is a great part of the tour. You will know more things about Gov Chavit Singson. The museum is great, if you haven't seen a bear and some wildlife then visit this famous place in Ilocos. By the way, ride the tram if you think you cannot walk that far, it is better to pay and it's not... More

I saw ponies with small carriages, a camel, Llamas, ostriches, a tiger, zebras, kangaroos, birds, deers, snakes and turtles. You won't enjoy the place very much if it's very hot.Instead of walking to see the animals closer, we just rode the mini shuttle bus for Php50. There are still on-going constructions in the area so I think they will add some more animals... More

Limited number of animals, its great though that there's no entrance fee. The area is super huge, i wish they would house more uncommonly seen animals. I saw some areas which are being developed though.
