This area is a photographers dream. The minarets and buildings have magnificent tiles and there are interesting mausoleums, all within the city walls. There are great cafes and restaurants, lots of great souvenir shops and also the UNESCO silk carpet workshop. Allow at least a...More

Takes you back in time ! Absolutely stunning and beautiful architecture. This is the inner town protected by brick walls some 10 m high - of the old Khiva oasis. History and stories here are so amazing and profound.

The restauration work of this old city is remarquable. The WC facilities buildings are the most beautiful worldwide. They integrate the antique urbanism perfectly. Don't miss the Sunday market. Colorful dresses for the ladies and dark blue suits for gentleman brings a joyful ambiance.

Khiva is a compact version of Samarkand and Bukhara combined. It's a fairy-tale city that has everything in it but a smaller version. The walking is easy, mostly flat surface and well preserved buildings. Definitely a must see in Khiva.
