If you want to tour the island and learn about the history of the area- take the three hour bus tour. If you are more adventurous, rent a bike or camp.

If you are interested in the history of the area, the bus tour is a must. We took a ferry to the island and then boarded an air conditioned van. Very comfortable and scenic!

I ran the Grand Island Trail Marathon. The ferry to the island is on a large pontoon boat and literally only takes about a minute. Very quick and convenient. The island has nice wide trails and is easily navigable. Great views and beautiful scenery throughout....More

Yes dogs on leashes are allowed. We brought our dog on the ferry and island last summer.
