This waterfall is beautiful. Once you get to the parking lot, there is a bit of a walk to get to the observation but it is a beautiful walk and the trails are taken well care of. You can view the falls from the top but it is really worth taking the 150 stairs down to the base. The bottom... More

One can observe the falls from the top, but to REALLY admire what nature has left you do need to trek the 153 steps to the lower observation area. It is not the 153 steps down, it is the 153 steps back UP to the top. It is do-able with benches to catch ones breath. REALLY is worth the trip... More

This fall is well worth the hike to get to it. There are stairs to get to the bottom and it well worth it. It is however difficult to get a good picture of the falls due to the trees obstructing the view. It's very unique as the fall only goes to one side of the rocks.

Well worth the trek to get there. Our gps routed us from M28 on Deerton Rd which became dirt and stone only to find out the bridge was out. Take main roads to Chatham instead. But once you're there it's fantastic. Michigan knows how to do state parks. The trail to the falls is wonderful and the falls are beautiful.... More

If you don't mind a walk and about 153 stairs this ones a good one. Groomed path. Beautiful view, a must see.

The falls are quite beautiful, but it was an ordeal finding them. The map on TripAdvisor is totally off the mark. Use the directions found on Gowaterfalling.com instead. The falls could be accessed by wheelchair with assistance. One point in the trail has ruts that would be difficult to manage. There is an observation deck at the top of the... More

different than many of the other falls. Very wide and layered. Try to find time to see it- one of our favorites!

The tourism materials for the area said that this is considered by many to be "the most spectacular of Michigan's falls." It was nice, but not as good as advertised. It takes about 1/2 hour to drive there from Munising. We had to drop $9 in a box for the park fee (that was the fee for one car). The... More

Having traveled to waterfalls all over the U.P. the past few years, this was our first visit to Laughing Whitefish Falls. If you are in the area, it is a must-see. For an accurate map of the location, visit Michigan's DNR website for Laughing Whitefish Falls State Park. The falls are secluded and beautiful. The path to the falls is... More
