we loved this building. Going to the roof was certainly a highlight of our trip in Leon! It does cost money to get up there but as photographers we thought it was worth it!

The cathedral is huge and dominates the centre of the city. We walked through the inside of the cathedral and then went up the narrow stairs to the rooftop (small entrance fee). You can stop at the top to see the bells ringing and then...More

If you are facing the cathedral, right around the left side there is a little door and there you pay for the climb to the top of the roof. At the top, you will be asked to take off your shoes and not walk on...More

Such an amazing view! The white roof top is unbelievable Beaty. It was not crowdy at all. So we made pictures with no other tourists on it. The entrance is a bit hard to find. You have to buy tickets at the backside of the...More

The largest Catholic Cathedral in Central America has 5 naves. It’s worth going because you can go up to the roof and get spectacular views of the city and surrounding volcanoes. A plus for us is that El Gato from the Harlem Globetrotters was visiting...More

Yes, sunglasses are virtually a must. To get a ticket got to the back of the cathedral. At its southeast corner is a little door, where you’ll see other tourists queued up inside. Then you go back around to the north northwest side, another little...More

Go to the rooftop - it's a must do in León, great experience to walk around barefoot and enjoying the view. It's quite accessible, not too many stairs to climb. To get tickets go to the back of the cathedral church (90 Cordobas).

Not an especially beautiful cathedral, but it is iconic for Léon and free (unless you want to go on the roof). We didn't go on the roof because we went on the roof of the 'museo de la revolucion' which gave superb views on the...More

You have to take of your shoes so as not to make marks on the white roof or damage the ballustrades.
