The is a large cathedral but it really isn't very attractive. It is the largest cathedral in Central America, but we were disappointed. If you do go, go upstairs for a pretty view of the city and volcanoes.

Very white. Nothing too exciting but definitely awe inspiring. Worth a visit. It's very picturesque. And you get to see the city from above and the horizon full of volcanoes.

Take off your shoes and just walk on top of it. Some rules apply but nothing major so just enjoy.. One of the best experiences in Leon. When its open you can go inside which is nice experience. Quite popular with locals.

Two adults on vacation. This is the main reason I think for visiting Leon. Classic Spanish Colonial architecture. A plague inside the front door records the visit of the Pope which is a really big deal. One differentiator is the ability to get to walk...More

Buy a 3 dollar ticket at the back (market side), climb up a few stairs at the side of the church, and enjoy the view. Not spectacular, but it aids to the conservation of the church. Closed between 12 and 2 pm!

Eclectic, and in the same time architecturally attractive. Reminds me Cathedral - Masque in Cordoba, of course from the outside

Cathedrals exterior is in the midst of being refurbished, and is stunning to see the contrasting sides still blackened with age, vs the pristine sides that have been cleaned. Pay for the tour to gain access to the roof top. Absolutely the most incredible views...More

Worth of visit, really beautiful and big bonus is access to the roof, witch cost but is amazing!! View from the roof is magical in last 30min when it's open, the sunset makes everything looking so beautiful!!

This cathedral is simply stunning. It's being renovated but we've preferred the 'rugged' dirty look. There's a street market by the side, with food and souvenirs. Not to be missed!

The interior is beautifully preserved cool and tranquil. We were there just before Christmas so they had a fabulous crib as well. We then bought tickets to go up on the roof. It has all been repainted and the shapes and shadows make for some...More
