Chateau Marquis de Vauban offers visits and degustations into its beautiful vineyard based at walking distance from the prestigious Citadelle (classified UNESCO in 2008). Come and discover our appellations Blaye Cote de Bordeaux, Blaye and Bordeaux superieur through the historic and technic visit followed by the tasting of 3 wines. The property also offerts horse carriage tours and winegrower lunch (meals inspired by the wine tradition and the old fashion French cuisine).

A dedicated and friendly staff looks forward to welcome you and answer all your questions. Let's discover the wine's grower way of life and share a sympatic moment with us.

Tour conducted in French which was nice (my wife speaks fluent French and translated for me) with a French speaking group. This was a little moment of levity when the thought I was English but a quick 'Je be suis par Anglais' and pointing to my New Zealand T-shirt got a great laugh! The tour itself was pretty basic, the... More

We arrived here yesterday in the rain but it is a really lovely place to stay in your motorhome for a couple of nights. Had lunch today which was quite an experience and had a really good tour of the winery and also got to hear about the Marquis and the history of the area. Would definitely come back again

Even though we turned up out of season and without notice, we were received with a warm welcome from the lady of the house. Near to the port (Blaye) yet quiet and scenic with plenty of shade. Free electricity. Free stopover with opportunity to buy a bottle or two of their splendid wine.

Visited with the family for the English-speaking tour and wine-tasting. The tour gave us an insight to how the grapes are grown right through to the actual production and storage of the wine itself. Very knowledgeable staff and a nice variety of wines to try (and buy if you so please)

We're quite well travelled vineyards tourists, adding this to our list including NZ,South Africa and Argentina. We were looking for a day trip with lunch. Booked via Jonzac tourist office ( excellent) and although a tiny bit sceptical about the advertising we weren't disappointed. 28€ covered Horse carriage return trip - Citadelle to Château- lunch (4 courses) with 3 wines.... It was good to go back to Blaye and the Chateau de Marquis de Vauban. We were treated very well and had a great meal of local delicacies accompanied by the Chateau's own wines. The introduction to each wine was most clearly and pleasantly presented by the knowledgeable staff. We took advantage of the offer of a horse drawn carriage... More

We visited the Chateau for the wine growers lunch. The lunch cost 27 euros and was excellent value for money. We had four courses plus tasting of four different wines. We were the only English couple in a group of 20 French and we were made very welcome. A young lady who spoke very good English looked after us and... More

The Journee decouverte included an interesting and educational day combining a tour of the vineyards with a lunch of delicious food served with the wine from this welcoming chateau. The selection of wines was excellent and good value.

We were greeted on arrival with a refreshing aperitif of delicious chilled claret, followed by a fantastic 4 course lunch with a different wine with each course. This was then followed by a very informative tour of the vineyard and tank rooms. It was a most enjoyable day out with very hospitable hosts in beautiful surroundings.
