We live in S.E. Michigan, we don't get up here often. The views are spectacular. We walked the beach with our dog. The air is clean, the stop is free (if you don't spend a bunch of money on fudge or in the gift shop) the scenery is breathtaking, and the water is cold. Don't pass on this historic stop... More

Although the museum was closed we were still able to enjoy the sound of the waves and the amazing view at Whitefish Point. The lighthouse is beautiful and right next to the lake. We were able to watch ships come in and enjoy the scenic relaxation of the sun and lake.

As a child, this place was abandoned. It's great to see all of the restoration work to the lighthouse and surrounding buildings. Museum is a must and walking the beach (leashed dogs are allowed on this beach.

Whitefish Point Lighthouse offers really nice views to Lake Superior. Remember to visit the Shipwreck Museum next door.

We visited near the end of the season before closing for the winter. The caretaker quarters was unusual in that the center wall separated the house. I have such respect for these pioneers who survived frigid temperatures. We did not take advantage of walking to the top of the lighthouse but it is available. We enjoyed walking around the grounds... More

The light house and the area it is in a very nice. The best part is the museum and the artifacts and information about the Edmund Fitzgerald. Make sure to walk out to the beach to see the memorial there too.

The museum is wonderful and worth the drive to see it. It was very educational. Young children probably would not appreciate it as much as adults or older kids.
