So fun to be able to climb the lighthouse and look over the lake. It's a beautiful site and a must see if your in this area. The history of the place is really cool too. They are doing a great job keeping it up.

Major lighthouse used for most of the era before ships depended on radar and global positioning. Marked the key site where the three upper Great Lakes empty into one and f the prettiest great rivers of the world, The St. Clair River. Next to the lighthouse is a lovely, lakeside park with swimming beach. Do not swim far enough out... More

This is a good tour for everyone to learn about Port Huron and its connection to the lakes surrounding it. There is a gift shop next to the lighthouse.

Not sure if I should put my rating in because I did not do the actual lighthouse tour on my visit here. We had someone in our group who had a leg injury, so we chose to take some photos, peek in the windows and check out the beach and park area and skip the stairs . I had not... More

Park at the little park/beach play area just down the beach (left if looking at the water from America). :) Take a stroll along the waters' edge to the lighthouse. Careful - the sand can get hot. But there is a little gate up to the lighthouse where there is also a water pump to wash the sand off your... More

We had some time to spend so we stopped by the Fort Gratiot Light House for a look around. There was parking for maybe ten vehicles with barrier free parking nearer the lighthouse. It was recently renovated and in the process of some more. The history of the lighthouse was fascinating and the kids had fun exploring. The displays were... More

I climbed the lighthouse here a few years ago and so far I'm the only Canadian from Sarnia across the river who has done that. Great views from the top! My husband and I also launched our rubber floatie from the beach here in the annual float down in August. A great spot for doing that.

We made the stop on a quiet October day. Trees were changing and grounds were so well kept. We wish we could have stayed longer.
