Loved the penguin exhibit and highly recommend getting there as early as possible to get the giraffe feeding tickets as they sell out quick.

Wonderful zoo with large natural enclosures. Friendly staff. The penguin exhibit is a must see it is so up close and personal as is the walk thru outback part where there are no barriers separating you from the kangaroos and wallaby. A must see attraction.

We visited the zoo in Summer 2017 with friends. This zoo is great. It's a lot of walking with little kids but worth it.

I really enjoyed visiting the Detroit zoo, but one thing you must know and remember, it is a very large this zoo. So if you have a little ones, don't forget the stroller or wagon. Don't have one? They are available to rent. My only...More

Expensive for the lack of animals out. All asleep? Really? Grounds are pretty with nice flowers but saw no big cats, bears, wolves, Very disappointing . Walked a lot but saw few animals. St Louis Zoo is still the best and doesn't charge a fee!

We bought the grandparent membership. We used it twice when our granddaughters were in, which is basically the break-even point. The penguin exhibit is great. The giraffes and zebras were good too. Extra rides are inexpensive. Could not find a polar bear in the exhibit....More

Recently made a trip to the zoo and wasn't disappointed. My friends and their kids (3 adults, 6 kids) went on a Monday and it wasn't busy at all. Plenty of parking available and we had lots of room to roam. We found lots of...More

Myself and my girlfriend are usually there for about 3-4 hours. It can be done faster or slower depending on those going and what you want to see.

All the above is true. The zoo is large enough that it can handle large crowds. More animals are slightly more active earlier in the day. Most people go right when coming in. Suggest you go left and avoid the flow. Go past... More
