The Detroit Zoo has wonderful and innovative animal displays that utilize space and a more natural habitat to give animals the much needed home-like feel. However, many employees at the zoo lack a friendly and helpful attitude. Another issue is that they allow smokers to...More

Couldn't find the animals there. Don't know what they are doing with all the money they take in . Maybe the animals are all hibernating. Don't waste your time.

This is a fantastic way to spend the day! Take your family. Take your friends. Just take yourself. It's clean, there's a lot to see, and it's different every time!

Loved the penguin exhibit and highly recommend getting there as early as possible to get the giraffe feeding tickets as they sell out quick.

Wonderful zoo with large natural enclosures. Friendly staff. The penguin exhibit is a must see it is so up close and personal as is the walk thru outback part where there are no barriers separating you from the kangaroos and wallaby. A must see attraction.

We visited the zoo in Summer 2017 with friends. This zoo is great. It's a lot of walking with little kids but worth it.

As folks have said there are some indoor exhibits but you should know the Detroit Zoo was designed as a natural habitat so it is mostly outdoors. The good news is that as a supporting member I can come and go without paying... More

About 3-4 hours if you want to really see EVERYTHING, and have lunch as well! It of course can be longer if you like.
