We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this museum. Their staff was very informative. My favorite part was the Ojibwa Doodems outside the building. This explains the clans of the Indian tribe in words, pictures, and sculpture. Great for kids.

The ticket taker was an Ojibwa and could answer questions about the culture, history, beliefs. Very interesting to imagine yourself in that time period, and as a participant.

My wife and I stopped in on our way to Marquette. We are history buffs, and found this museum quite enjoyable. It's good to learn about the history of other cultures, and this museum delivered. They featured a video of how birch bark canoes are made; and an exhibit on the forced assimilation of the Native American people - sometimes... More

My husband and I were in St. Ignace to get our car repaired. The museum just happened to be a few doors down from the repair shop. We went in and were pleasantly surprised at how well the Ojibwa culture is presented. The young man working there was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Some of the displays are interactive. We were in 2 museums in St. Ignace, and both were great to experience! I wanted to mention how awesome this museum's "greeter" was! He made our visit much more personal with his knowledge and the hands on experience he's had with this museum. It was very engaging, and I loved that you could purchase Native American made items there!
