That's a lot of stairs!!! A challenging climb for those over 50 years old! Nice view from the top. Cheesy souvenirs! Current admission charge is $1 per person.

Had I not asked one of the locals what attractions not to miss during our Saint Ignace visit, I'd have never known about the natural wonder named Castle Rock. This is an actual rock formation, a stack of lime rock jutting almost 200 feet into the air not far from the shore of Lake Huron. The views are stunning from... More

For a few dollars we fit in some exercise marching those stairs. The kids loved the view from the top. Though it could probably be considered a tourist trap it is well worth it.

This is a quick "thing to do" in St.Ignace. You walk up (170) steps and you may get out of breath but views at the top of Lake Huron are worth it. Going down is much easier and when you go the gift shop you get a sticker that says "I climbed Castle Rock". You can also "crush" a penny... More

The cost for climbing the 171 steps to Caslte Rock is $1 cash only. They have a souvenier shop also that does take credit cards. The climb is rough. It is very steep but there are benches to rest and the view is spectacular.

I have photos of my brother and Imstanding next to Babe the Blue Ox and Paul Bunyon. Growing up in the Midwest, I heard their stories and loved, seeing them "in person". Now, As then, it's a nostalgic visit. The climb to the Rock is $1. It offered great views of the area. The store will keep your kids entertained. Expect... More

On a clear day you can see very far. Climb is not so bad. Can stop and rest if need be. Once you reach the top it is well worth it. Wish the view finder was working. Could use some nicer land escaping around the statue .

Cool to see Johnny Appleseed, my granddaughter (4) and her Papa climbed all the way to the top. He had to stop a few times to rest but they had fun.

I've loved going here as a kid, even though I'm afraid of heights. Took our kids here and they enjoyed it, too. Bathrooms are a bit gross though.
