So you can’t go inside right now but if you are in Sault Ste. Marie, would recommend a drive or walk by. The building is gorgeous and you can see where the water runs beneath. Would imagine it is better with a tour but worth going to see from the outside if you are in town.

Interesting building history constructed 1898 to 1902, 1/4 mile long, 80 feet wide. Strange as it may sound it is still using wood bearing that are original made from a rare dense wood from South America. From the boat tour you can see the interesting construction -- the columns are designed like lighthouses. I believe there are tours during certain times of the year we did not get inside the build. Seeing it from the water was spectacular. So large, and design was wonderful. The columns are lighthouses. A must see.

Saw this on our drive to the Sault Ste Marie Soo Locks Cruise but on the cruise they explain the history behind this 1/4 mile long building. Amazing.
