So cool, loved coming to the locks. Teens loved it, 11 years old and 50 plus loved it. Call the visitor's center to get the ship hotline so you know when ships are coming in. Great staff. Very helpful.

The locks are nice, and a viewing platform is provided. I found only one entrance open along with plenty of security. Visible, not in the way by any means. Parking on the street is .$25/30 minutes and it is pull-in for the most part. There...More

Our 6 year old really enjoyed watching the big boats come in. It was also neat to learn about why it needs to do it. It's in a great location in town so there are little shops and restaurants in walking distance.

This is an engineering marvel that allows marine craft of all sizes to be lifted or lowered between the great lakes. Don't miss this. There are many great restaurants on the Michigan side to eat at and wait for a ship to come through

Like someone already stated, there is a ramp up to the second level but not all the way up to the upper level. The view from the ground is good also. One good view is if a ship is downbound in the MacArthur lock ( the closer... More
