First visit and impression (though have visited "The Soo" many times) .. dark, uncomfortable, creepy. Wondered if it was some new age, Goth place. Granted it is October, black skulls ? Halloween. Also last room junky, unkempt. Altogether negative first impression and glad to get out.

For me visiting this shop could be addictive. A happy collection of jewelry, art work and photos featuring local artists, digital restoration, custom framing etc. I got a 19th Century port side ship's lantern. I suppose I should go back for the starboard side one. The sort of place I would visit a few times a week just to see what has come in.

Our ship docked in Sault Ste. Marie and I went for a stroll in town rather than the organized tour. As I walked down Portage Avenue, I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice shop with amazing crafts made by local artisans. I like the name "Sault Realism," as I think it properly conveys what you're getting inside.

It is an ok shop, they sell local artisans works, but are very pricey, which I get. Last time I was here (2014) I thought the selection was a lot nicer.

I recently visited the Soo from my home in Maine.I spent a day downtown and wandered into SaultRealism. I think I was expecting another tourist store but this was different. Very unique, a wide variety of items, and very captivating just to walk around. The ladies assisted me with picking out a necklace for my wife. Out of many, we chose one with a Petosky stone. I probably will return again next summer, it is a beautiful area.
