Can’t comment on the Sports Park itself because we didn’t end up going…the morning we were booked I happened to come across an article in a newspaper saying there was a recent water advisory for the lake. High bacteria levels and public health had the adjacent beach listed in their “not suitable for swimming” advisory.
I spoke to a rep at FunSplash and they said that unless the beach is officially closed (as opposed to an advisory) by Public Health, then they are allowed to operate. Nothing posted on their site about any water quality advisory.
Wish I had thought to look it up before I purchased 2 non refundable tickets. Lesson learned!
We opted to take the loss and not go.

Hamilton Public Health deemed the water unsafe for swimmig at this time, but there is no mentioning this on their website, nor do they stop their bookings for the time being. They also refuse to give refunds on their tickets during this advisory.
In the manager's words: "to make as much money as possible during what's left of the season". Very bad for their reputation to not care for the health advisory and trick customers into booking without offering a refund in this case!

Please be aware!

What started out as a good time ended poorly when the manager finished by yelling unnecessarily as the children were getting out of the lake. At 7:30 close the lifeguards blew their horns and everyone got out in about 2-3 minutes. I was surprised how quickly it happened. I was watching my kids the whole time (who did nothing wrong) and as they got out the manager started yelling at them for "giving his lifeguards a hard time." I couldn't believe it. The lifeguards were all very nice. In fact, prior to this, the one life guard, who was chatting with my son (as they were about the same age) stating that "the boss was miserable." The situation left our group of 7 all very alarmed and disappointed. Terrible customer service and we will not be returning.

The kids and I had a great time at FunSplash Sports Park. My grandson was scared to go in at first but the staff were very gentle and understanding of his fears and accompanied him out for a bit until he felt comfortable. A big thank you to the staff there and how they handle my grandson. He got over his fears and he had a blast until it was time to go and he didn't want to leave lol. I recommend FunSplash Sports Park for a good time on a hot day! Very safe for everyone.

The owner is rude and yells at the children. He is a bad example for the life guards and staff of the park who are themselves young people. As the park gets ready to close he takes it upon himself to insult and yell at Children in public when guardians and parents are present.
It makes for an extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing experience all together. If he cannot handle children of all ages he should rethink his business plan and make it n experience for little children only.

Way to expensive for an aweful and unfriendly treatment and experience. What a disappointment.

Do not recommend this place to anyone.

First time with my 9 year old son at this outdoor Waterpark. It will definitely not be our last! We had an incredible time. Parents get ready if your going with your kids, it’s a workout! Staff were really attentive, lifeguards everywhere. Really great place, and as a bonus it really tires them out!

I couldn’t find a ton of information about this place before going, but thought I’d give it a shot. Having been there, here’s what I found:
- You pay for admission to the conservation area at the gate and then pay the fee for the FunSplash sports park separately. (Both take cash, debit or credit). You can choose a 2 hour pass or a day pass to the water park and the price between them is minimal. There is an age restriction, so kids under 6 years old are not permitted to go on the course. (There is a splash pad at the conservation area as well, fairly close to beach but not enough that you can clearly see your kids there from it.) Some adults choose to go on the inflatables but most prefer to sit and watch from the beach as the kids race around.
- Everyone is required to wear a PFD and there is no rental fee. Don’t bother bringing your own life jacket, as they’d like everyone to wear theirs.
- The owners/staff were great and we really appreciated their kind welcome and pleasant nature as we paid, filled out the waivers, received the PFD’s, heard the rules, etc.
- The inflatable course is at the beach. It’s clearly signed and easy to find. There is plenty of parking and usually enough picnic tables to go around. Once at the beach, you have to wade and swim a short distance out to the course. As you head out there, the bottom is quite mucky and freaked out the boys (and me) so we swam as soon as possible, even though you can wade for quite a distance.
- The water is deep enough (or the PFD’s are good enough) that you can jump or cannonball off anything and not touch the bottom. No diving allowed.
- They have 2 lifeguards stationed on the course at anytime (one near the start gate and one in a designated guard tower) and also one in a little inflatable boat that can row around. They were attentive and professional.
- It wasn’t overly busy the day we went, but we heard that it can be! Not surprisingly, weekends are busier and long weekends are simply crazy, with giant lineups, as they can’t allow additional people on if it’s at capacity.
- To get on the course (initially or after you fall/jump off), there are platforms with a little mesh step to help you get up. They are very sturdy and strategically placed, although sometimes not where you wish they’d be, lol. Trying to get up anywhere else is very difficult. Some of the obstacles not attached directly to the course are also challenging to get on- the Iceberg and the Spinner being the main two, although maybe that’s just this old lady, as the kids usually conquered it on the first try and it took me several! 😉
- Last but not least, it’s just plain old fun! Think American Ninja Warrior meets WipeOut. Apparently this is the biggest course in Ontario and it’s a blast. Be prepared to slip, slide, wipeout, faceplant, run, jump, climb, and fall. We stayed for only 4 hours but I had to drag the boys off and, if it was up to them, they’d stay til it closed at 8pm. We will definitely return and would absolutely recommend others to visit.

No pool in your backyard-no matter! This water park is like WIPEOUT for all ages; must be tried at least once and likely a great return trip activity for hot summer days. Guarded beach area has an obstacle course and fun climbing apparatus for all ages.
Definitely a day trip for a staycation or an option for visiting friends/relatives. No more expensive than any other water park option but this one is on a conservation area so that if some of the car load wants water sports and others want to sun bathe or others just want to picnic--everyone wins!

We had a 4, 5, 7,8 and 9 year old. Charged us 27.00 to get into the conservation area and $106.00 for 2 hours. 2 little ones were bored in 15 min.
